[1] Morrison has also served as the President of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) since 2022.

Morrison pursued a career as a psychiatric nurse, and worked in the National Health Service.

After becoming Convenor, Morrison also served as the chair of the Health and Social Care committee.

[6] In June 2022 she was made the 16th President of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA).

[5] In 2023 the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI) decided to relaunch itself under the new name of "Prosper" and as President of COSLA Morrison was involved in the process.
