Anthoshorea hypochra called, along with some other species in the genus Anthoshorea, white meranti, is a species of tree in the family Dipterocarpaceae.
It grows naturally in Cambodia, Sumatra, Laos, Peninsular Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The species ranges from Indo-China to Peninsular Malaysia and the Riau and Lingga archipelagoes.
[1] A. hypochra occurs on flat and undulating land near the coast or in seasonal dipterocarp forest at low latitude.
A dammar of good quality ('dammar temak') has been yielded on a commercial scale.
