The temple was supposedly built by King Digva 5,600 years ago.

Because of this breach of conduct in the darbar, Indra punished her by expelling her from Indralok and asked her live on Mrityulok (Earth) for 12 years.

Then Rishi told her to go to King Degva in Dhundhar Pradesh and stay there.

The temple is served by Gujar Gaur clan of pandits residing in Diggi.
