Siege of Panhala 1692–1694

The siege of Panhala, 1692–1694, was a conflict that was part of the Deccan wars and Maratha conquests.

Just after death of Sambhaji and surrender of Raigad, the Maratha state fell into confusion and temporary decline.

Taking advantage of the situation, Aurangzeb despatched Zulfiqar Khan Nusrat Jung to capture Panhala fort.

Although he was repulsed by a brave Maratha commander Ghatge in the Siege of Panhala 1690.

Jadhav inflicted a defeat on the besiegers and the Mughals were finally expelled in March 1694.
