[4] According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 96.6 km2 (37.3 mi2), of which 90.4 km2 (34.9 mi2) is land and 6.1 km2 (2.4 mi2) (6.36%) is water.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 494 people, 190 households, and 148 families residing in the township.

The racial makeup of the township was 99.80% White, and 0.20% from two or more races.

There were 190 households, out of which 29.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.3% were married couples living together, 2.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.6% were non-families.

18.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
