John Stapylton

Sir John Stapylton, 3rd Baronet (c. 1683 – 24 October 1733), of Myton in Yorkshire, was an English landowner and Tory politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1705 to 1708.

[1] At the 1705 English general election, Stapylton was returned as Member of Parliament for Boroughbridge, which his father had represented for twelve of the previous fifteen years.

However, on the way to the meeting he was killed by a fall from his horse on 24 October 1733 and his son was selected to replace him.

[2] Stapylton had a number of children, including: also Francis, Henry, Robert and Christopher, Mary, Elizabeth, Diana and Penelope.
