Sir Thomas Mostyn, 4th Baronet

[1] He was educated at Westminster School in 1716 and matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford on 13 October 1720, aged 16.

of Robert Western of St Peters Cornhill, London and Rivenhall Essex in about 1733.

[1] Mostyn was a Hanoverian Tory, and in 1727 forced the Jacobite sheriff of Flintshire to proclaim George II.

He took a leading part in local Tory preparations for the 1734 British general election and was returned as Member of Parliament for Flintshire in succession to his father.

[1] His daughter Anne, became the second wife of Thomas Pennant of Downing Hall, the naturalist and traveller in 1777.
