Sir William Clay, 1st Baronet

Sir William Clay, 1st Baronet (15 August 1791 – 13 March 1869)[1] was an English Liberal Party politician and considered as a reformist a Radical.

[3] He served under Lord Melbourne as Joint Secretary to the Board of Control from 1839 to 1841.

[citation needed] On 30 September 1841 he was made a baronet, of Fulwell Lodge in the County of Middlesex.

[4] Clay married Harriet, daughter of Thomas Dickason, of Fulwell Lodge, Twickenham,[5] Middlesex, in 1822.

[citation needed] Sir William Clay, 2nd Baronet married Mariana Emily, daughter of Leo Schuster in 1855.
