The slaty becard (Pachyramphus spodiurus) is a species of bird in the family Tityridae.
It has traditionally been placed in Cotingidae or Tyrannidae, but evidence strongly suggest it is better placed in Tityridae,[2] where it is now placed by the South American Classification Committee.
Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests.
They have a decreasing population and are endangered according to the IUCN red list.
Threats include the increase in urban areas, farming and deforestation.
