Sognefjord Span

In order to avoid any too close approaches or contacts between the conductors, each is mounted on a separate pylon at the end of the span, which is built as a steel framework tower.

The span, which crosses Sognefjord in North-South direction, has 4 conductors, whereby one is for reserve.

Just a few hundred meters east of Span 1, the powerline between Sogndal 61°13′6″N 7°1′20″E / 61.21833°N 7.02222°E / 61.21833; 7.02222 (Sogndal) and Hove 61°04′12″N 6°35′43″E / 61.07000°N 6.59528°E / 61.07000; 6.59528 (Hove) substations crosses Sognefjord with a 4520 meters long spanning East-West direction.
