Solovey (Go_A song)

[3][4] The song lyrics are about a girl, Katrusia (nickname for "Kateryna"), who lives in the Ukrainian countryside.

She falls in love with a boy named Vaniusha (nickname for "Ivan"), but the two lovers have to meet in secret at night, because, if the mother found out about their relationship, they would have to break up.

[3][4] The lyrics, all in the Ukrainian language, are written in an iambic pentameter verse, which is the main metre in Slavic folk poetry and drama.

On 28 January 2020, a special allocation draw was held which placed each country into one of the two semi-finals, as well as which half of the show they would perform in.

It was announced on 18 March 2020 that, due to the 2020 pandemic of Coronavirus, the Eurovision Song Contest for 2020 would not go ahead.
