Spodnje Blato

[3] Spodnje Blato is a ribbon village along the road below Stehan Hill (467 meters or 1,532 feet).

Stone Hill (Kamna gorica, 389 meters or 1,276 feet) rises to the west, and the Frjača Woods extends to the east.

[2] Locally, the village is simply known as Blato,[4] which was also its official name at the beginning of the 20th century.

[5] In the past, a mill operated along Breg Creek, but it was abandoned by the mid-20th century.

[6] Spodnje Blato is the site of two known mass graves from the period after the Second World War.
