Velike Lipljene (pronounced [ˈʋeːlikɛ ˈliːpljɛnɛ]; German: Großliplein[2]) is a settlement in the Municipality of Grosuplje in central Slovenia.

It lies in the hills south of Grosuplje on the road from Šent Jurij to Turjak.

[4] Mayor Cave (Županova jama) is located on the northern edge of the settlement's territory.

It was opened as a show cave in 1927 and outfitted with electric lights after the Second World War.

[10] That name is still encountered today,[7] and it is derived from Tabor Hill (493 m), which stands about 1 kilometer (0.62 mi) north of the cave.
