Spodnje Hoče (pronounced [ˈspóːdnjɛ ˈxòːtʃɛ, - ˈxóː-]) is a settlement in and the administrative centre of the Municipality of Hoče–Slivnica in northeastern Slovenia.
It lies below the eastern Pohorje Hills on the edge of the flatlands on the right bank of the Drava River south of Maribor.
The name is originally a plural demonym (*Xoťane) derived from the nickname *Xotъ (based on a longer name such as *Xotimirъ).
[3] The local parish church is dedicated to Saint George (Slovene: sveti Jurij) and belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Maribor.
