Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion AOC

Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ ʒɔʁʒ sɛ̃t‿emiljɔ̃]) is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) for wine in the Bordeaux wine region of France, where it is situated in the Libourne subregion on the right bank of the Dordogne.

192 hectares (470 acres) of vine planted areas belonged to the appellation in 2005, with a production of 9,333 hl.

The appellation is in an area, north of Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of the river Barbanne and is included in the vineyard of Montagne.

With the vineyards of Lussac-Saint-Émilion, Montagne-Saint-Émilion and Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion, it forms part of the "satellites" of Saint-Émilion.

Before the chaptalization and concentration process, the must (the residue of grapes, after the juice has been extracted) must contain a minimum of 187g/L of natural sugar.
