Bishop Matthew Harrkins of Providence appointed Peter Switala its first pastor.
[1] The church was demolished and parish shut down in 2017 following faltering attendance, staff downsizing, and then-temporary suspensions of service due to building damage.
[2] Church plans were drawn by architect Walter F. Fontaine and contractor Thomas Loughran.
The cornerstone was laid on July 25, 1909, by Bishop Harkins and the dedication ceremonies were held on December 19, 1909.
