[3] The township borders the western side of the cities of St.
Cloud and Waite Park, and completely surrounds the city of St. Joseph.
St. Joseph Township was organized in 1858, and named after a local church.
As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 2,449 people, 845 households, and 637 families residing in the township.
17.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
