Stanley Metcalfe

Stanley Gordon Metcalfe (20 June 1932 – 16 September 2017) was an English first-class cricketer.

He played first-class cricket on 27 occasions, mostly for Oxford University and the Free Foresters.

Metcalfe was born at Horsforth in June 1932 and attended the nearby Leeds Grammar School.

[2] After graduating from Oxford, he worked for Rank Hovis McDougall from 1959, later becoming their chairman.

[5] He lived out his final years in Alton, Hampshire, before dying in September 2017 following a long illness.
