Stefan Andres

Andres moved away to Italy in 1937, returning to Germany 13 years later.

[1] He was a widely read German writer in the post-World War II period.

His most famous works are the novellas El Greco Paints the Grand Inquisitor (1936) and We Are Utopia (1942).
