Stephen H. Mahoney (1890 – February 17, 1974) was an American football player and coach and a longtime municipal recreation official.

In 1908 he attended the College of the Holy Cross, where he played running back on the school's football team and was a baseball outfielder.

[1] In 1910, Mahoney was named head football coach at Boston College High School.

[3] At the end of the season he returned to Somerville High, this time as head football coach.

[1] Mahoney served as the head football coach at Boston College from 1914 to 1915, where he compiled a record of 8–8.
