Stephen McAllister (lawyer)

Stephen Robert McAllister (born November 27, 1962) is an American attorney, academic, and former government official.

He served as the United States Attorney for the District of Kansas from 2018 to 2021.

[3] A graduate of the University of Kansas and the University of Kansas School of Law, McAllister clerked for Judge Richard Posner of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, then was a law clerk for justices Clarence Thomas and Byron R. White of the United States Supreme Court.

After law school, he worked in private practice in the Washington D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.

[4] He also served as the interim director of the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics from 2003 to 2004.
