Stockholm Township, Wright County, Minnesota

Stockholm Township was organized in 1868, and named after Stockholm, Sweden, the capital of the native land of a large share of the early settlers.

As of the census of 2000,[1] there were 805 people, 258 households, and 212 families residing in the township.

The racial makeup of the township was 97.52% White, 0.25% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.12% Pacific Islander, 1.86% from other races, and 0.12% from two or more races.

There were 258 households, out of which 44.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.9% were married couples living together, 1.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.8% were non-families.

12.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

Many gravestones like this one are written in the Swedish language of the township's early immigrants.
