Stormskerry Maja

[2] Based on the five-volume book series by Anni Blomqvist,[3] the film, set in the Åland archipelago, tells the story of Maja, who with her husband Janne faces life's challenges and adversities on a remote island in the 19th century.

[4] Amanda Jansson [fi] and Linus Troedsson [sv] star in the main roles.

[7][8] Young 17-year-old Maja (Amanda Jansson) gets married against her will to fisherman Janne (Linus Troedsson).

Her life on the island of Stormskerry (Stormskär) is full of challenges and adversities: as a fisherman's wife, she has to cope with her husband's long absences at sea and take care of her family alone.

Maja and Janne have a strong connection, and a love that has deepened over time as they face many challenges and upheavals, such as the Åland War, along the way.
