He served as Minister in Government of Rajasthan in Bhairon Singh ministry as Independent charge.
He was elected to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly for seven terms in a career spanning over six decades.
He was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party since 2003 after resigning Indian National Congress.
