Susanne Karstedt FASSA is a German criminologist.
She is a professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia.
A native of Germany, Kartstedt trained in sociology at the University of Hamburg.
[1][2] In 2007, the American Society of Criminology presented Karstedt with the Sellin-Glueck Award, given to criminologists for the introduction of new perspectives on the problem of crime and justice outside the U.S.[3] In 2016, she was awarded the Law and Society Association International Prize.
[6] In 2020 she was elected Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia.
