Suzana Gartner

After retiring from legal practice, she continued to advocate for animal rights through writing, public speaking, and media appearances.

Gartner worked as a mediator intern at the Ontario Ministry of Labour in the Dispute Resolution Services Branch from 2009-2010.

She managed the shelter’s operations, led the dog and cat teams, presented at board meetings, introduced new programs to rehabilitate shelter dogs, and worked with other animal welfare organizations through collaborations.

Gartner was chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Animal Law Executive Committee.

[4] She was a member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Executive Committee and the Jackman Humanities Institute (JHI) working group at the University of Toronto.
