She tested for the role on September 15, 1955, alongside Marla English, Jacqueline Park, Lisa Davis, Audrey Conti, Eugenia Paul, Joan Elan, and Eleanore Tanin.

Alexander was buried at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, California.
