Boyko won the gold medal in the foil team event at the 2006 World Fencing Championships after beating Italy in the final.

She accomplished this with her teammates Aida Chanaeva, Julia Khakimova, and Ianna Rouzavina.

[citation needed] On 15 August 2008 Boiko, with teammates Aida Chanaeva, Victoria Nikichina and Evgenia Lamonova, beat the United States team 28 to 11, winning the gold medals of 2008 Olympic Games.
