Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota

A few months later, the name Swede Prairie was adopted, for the fact a large share of the early settlers were natives of Sweden.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 162 people, 57 households, and 47 families residing in the township.

15.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 7.5% of families and 6.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.5% of those under the age of eighteen and 8.7% of those 65 or over.
