[1][3] Five artists competed to represent Switzerland: Bianca Cavallini; Gianni Ferraresi, who participated in the 1957 Swiss selection; Fud Leclerc, who represented Belgium in 1956, 1958, and this year, where he was already selected; Jo Roland, who previously participated in multiple other Swiss national finals; and Anita Traversi, who previously represented Switzerland in 1956 as one of the members of Quinteto Radiosa, the backing vocals for the Swiss entries.
