T. Alan Broughton

Thomas Alan Broughton (June 9, 1936 – May 17, 2013) was an American poet and amateur pianist.

From 1966 until 2001 Broughton taught writing at the University of Vermont.

[2] He has attended Harvard University, Phillips Exeter Academy, and the Juilliard School of Music.

[3] Broughton received numerous awards and fellowships, including a Guggenheim for fiction in 1982, an NEH Fellowship, and was elected a Fellow of the Vermont Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2012.

[4] He served as a cultural representative in southeast Asia, Egypt, and Italy under the auspices of the United States Information Agency.
