On January 5, 2020, Edwards made his official postseason debut in the NFC Wildcard Game, making two combined tackles in a 17–9 loss against the Seattle Seahawks.
Edwards entered training camp in 2020 as a possible candidate to be the starting middle linebacker, competing against Jatavis Brown and Davion Taylor, after Nigel Bradham became a free agent.
