Takano Fusataro

Takano Fusataro (高野 房太郎, January 6, 1869 – March 12, 1904) was a Japanese labor activist.

In the meantime his younger brother, Takano Iwasaburo, had worked to become a professor at Tokyo Imperial University and had become well-versed in the socio-political situation regarding Japanese labor.

Fusataro had to change the philosophy that Gompers and the American Federation of Labor gave him in order to work with the Shakai Seisaku Gakkai [ja] and Japan's political climate create successful unions.

It was attended by several hundred people, and Takano and his fellow activists, Jo Tsunetaro and Sawada Hannosuke, handed out educational pamphlets.

They formed the Rodo Kumiai Kiseikai on July 7, 1897, and Takano served as the head of the organization.
