Taketomi Kunikane

Taketomi Kunikane (武富邦鼎, 19 December 1852 – 17 November 1931) was an admiral in the early Imperial Japanese Navy.

He was assigned to the Governor-General of Taiwan after the end of the war, and served as executive officer on the cruisers Izumi and Matsushima.

From July 1901, Taketomi was captain of the cruiser Iwate, holding this position during the first half of the Russo-Japanese War.

In January 1905 he was promoted to rear admiral and was appointed commander of the 5th Division of the IJN 3rd Third Fleet, and was at the Battle of Tsushima.
