Talasari taluka

[1] On 1 August 2014, the talukas of Mokhada, Jawahar, Talasari, Vikramgadh, Wada, Dahanu, Palghar and Vasai were separated from the erstwhile Thane district to form a new district Palghar.

Talasari had a literacy rate of 57.20% and a sex ratio of 1026 females per 1000 males.

The entire population lived in rural areas.

[4] Languages of Talasari taluk (2011)[5] At the time of the 2011 Census of India, 67.27% of the population in the district spoke Varli, 18.96% Marathi, 4.95% Kokna and 3.89% Gujarati as their first language.
