[1] She won a silver medal in the same event at the 1970 European Aquatics Championships.

Being a young and healthy girl she had not realized the seriousness of the injury and had not had it operated.

In 1975, after winning another national title she retired from competitive swimming.

While studying at a university to become a coach, she once suddenly got pain in the joints that paralyzed her.

She was successfully operated, but nevertheless became partly disabled for life, and could resume normal activities only after four years.
