Teesta Bazaar

The rafting was introduced by DGHC (Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council, now GTA) in the year 1991.

Recently tourists have started frequenting this place for camping in tents and enjoy the pristine confluence of the two rivers.

Physiographically, this area forms the Kalimpong Range, with the average elevation varying from 300 to 3,000 metres (980 to 9,840 ft).

[5][6] While the first degree college in the subdivision was established at Kalimpong in 1962[7] the entire subdivision (and now the entire district), other than the head-quarters, had to wait till as late as 2015 (more than half a century) to have their first degree colleges at Pedong and Gorubathan.

According to the 2011 Census of India, Tista Bazar DIF had a total population of 2,953 of which 1,530 (52%) were males and 1,423 (48%) were females.

The total number of literate people in Tista Bazar DIF was 2,053 (78.18% of the population over 6 years).
