Teresa (2010 TV series)

Despite being beautiful and having the support and love she receives from her parents, she lives resentful of the miserable life that left her without her younger sister Rosa, who died.

She aims to escape poverty using her looks while expecting her boyfriend Mariano, a striving doctor, to fulfill her dreams.

While studying at a luxurious high school on a scholarship, Teresa meets Paulo, a wealthy and popular student.

Paulo's mother, Genoveva, strongly objects to her son's relationship with Teresa and pressures him to get engaged with Aída instead.

Teresa befriends her teacher Arturo de la Barrera (Sebastián Rulli), a prestigious lawyer who accepts to pay for her college studies.

However, seeing that her best friend Aurora (Ana Brenda Contreras) fell in love with Mariano, Teresa, filled with jealousy, gets back with him.

But, seeing that it will take time for Mariano to have a career and money, she finally decides to pick Arturo, whom she lies telling him that she is very unhappy with her parents.

Mariano, after getting dumped by Teresa while engaged to her, is devastated and finds comfort in Aida after Paulo dies of a drug overdose.

Time passes, and Arturo learns of Teresa's prior intimacy with Mariano before their wedding and her motive of marrying him for money.

As the plot unfolds, Teresa successfully seduces Fernando, persuading him to leave Luisa and share his fortune and divorces Arturo.

This ending featured a heartbroken Teresa, finally realizing and accepting that she is now alone and none of her loved ones want anything to do with her, leaving Arturo's house to begin a new life.
