The Edge of Ice is a 1951 Australian radio play by Colin Thiele told the story of a handful of castaways in a boat in Antarctica.

"[7] According to ABC Weekly the play was about "a group of men who, together with the captain’s wife and little son, are the only survivors from a shipwreck.
The party drift in an open boat on the Southern Ocean, and when at their last gasp reach a barren island, where they live on seal meat.
The play’s story is carried forward by a poetic narration which brought forth high praise from the judges.
