The series follows the McIntosh family, originally from New York City, who live in the Madison River valley of central Montana.
In May 2023, Paramount green-lit an untitled Yellowstone spin-off series, later titled The Madison.
[3][4] Later that month, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, and Matthew Fox were announced as cast members.
[7] Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Alaina Pollack, and Danielle Vasinova were announced as cast members on December 17, 2024.
[10] Filming moved to Fort Worth, Texas, in late November and lasted through mid-December 2024.
