The Man with the Donkey is a 1938 Australian radio drama by Harry Paull about John Simpson Kirkpatrick and his donkey during World War One.
It aired on the ABC on Anzac Day in 1938.
[3] The play was produced again on the ABC on Anzac Day in 1945[4] and 1951.
[5] According to the press release the play "re-creates the circumstances of the landing, and pays a clear tribute to “the man with the donkey” the man who was sometimes called “Scotty” and sometimes “Murphy,” though actually he was born in Durham, England.
