It was later adapted into the film of the same name in 1970, starring Elizabeth Taylor and Warren Beatty.

The play was profiled in the William Goldman book The Season: A Candid Look at Broadway.

The cast included Tammy Grimes (Fran), Barry Nelson (Joe), and Leo Genn (Thomas).
