The Rockefeller Foundation Economic Council on Planetary Health

[1] The Council, made up of world leaders from government, international organizations, civil society, business, finance and academia, will meet several times throughout the 18 months of its mandate to develop specific recommendations and a decision-making framework that balances economic development with ecosystem protection, while promoting human health and well-being.

The report made several recommendations for how to do this, including having integrated social, economic and environmental policies, and better governance.

The role of the Economic Council on Planetary Health will be to provide advice and recommendations for how to reach these goals.

[5] By the end of 2019, the Council is expected to produce a report that will recommend actionable public policy for governments and institutions on advancing planetary health.

[7] The chair of The Rockefeller Foundation Economic Council on Planetary Health is Ernesto Zedillo, former president of Mexico and current director of the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization.
