Thomas Metzger

Thomas A. Metzger (born 1933, Chinese Character: 墨子刻) is a senior fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution.

He also has written on U.S.–China policy issues and has lectured widely in English and Chinese in the United States, Europe, Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong.

In 1980, he received the Award for Excellence in Research from the Chancellor's Associates of the University of California, San Diego.

From 1975 through 1987, he was the only winner of this prize, annually awarded to a UCSD faculty member, outside science, engineering, and medicine.
