He represented Yarmouth in the House of Commons of Canada from 1891 to 1902 as a Liberal member.
[1] He was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia,[1] the son of John Flint and Anne Barnard,[2] and was educated at the Wesleyan Academy in Sackville, New Brunswick and Harvard University.
[citation needed] He was called to the bar in 1872 and set up practice in Yarmouth.
[3] Flint was assistant clerk for the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1887 to 1891.
In 1902, Flint was named Clerk of the House of Commons and resigned his seat.
