Thomas Caywood

Thomas E. Caywood (May 9, 1919 – December 19, 2008) was an American computer scientist and cofounder of the Operations Research Society of America.

His thesis was titled Axially Symmetric Harmonic Functions and he was advised by Garrett Birkhoff.

[5] Caywood moved to the Institute for Air Weapons Research at the University of Chicago.

[1] In 1953, he co-founded Caywood-Shiller Associates, an independent consulting firm for the industry and military, and served as a managing partner for 25 years.

[4] He was elected to the 2002 class of Fellows of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.
