Thomas George (born 15 January 1949) is an Australian politician who was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1999 to 2019.
[1] Elected to the seat of Lismore in 1999, Thomas George had been a longtime supporter of the Nationals, becoming a member in 1969.
His foundations for helping out the community began when he was the inaugural chairman of the Casino Beef Week Promotion Committee from 1982 to 1990.
George was president of the Casino Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1997 until 1998, and a representative on the Northern Rivers Area Consultative Committee from 1995 until 1997.
[2] In June 2017, George announced his intention to retire from politics at the next state election in 2019.
