[3] Ngapoi Ngawang Jigme is elected to be the chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region.

The members of the Presidium elect from among themselves a number of persons as Standing Chairpersons, who preside over the day-to-day business of the session.

The TAR People's Congress shall have a Secretary-General and a number of Deputy Secretaries-General.

The Secretary-General directs the work of the Secretariat and is responsible for the affairs of the Assembly.

[7] Under the leadership of the TAR People's Congress and the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, the specialized committee study, deliberate and formulate relevant bills; they conduct investigations and research and make recommendations on issues within the competence of the TAR People's Congress and the Standing Committee of the TAR People's Congress which are of relevance to the committees.
