Tim Couzens (1944–2016) was a South African literary and social historian, and travel writer.
He won a number of awards for his works, and was employed in the Graduate School for Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
[2] Couzens authored 16 distinct works[3] and was also involved in the publication of Nelson Mandela's "Conversations With Myself".
[4] In mid October 2016 Couzens suffered a severe head injury from a fall causing a brain haemorrhage.
