Tirli

Tirli is a village in Tuscany, central Italy, administratively a frazione of the comune of Castiglione della Pescaia, province of Grosseto.

[1] Tirli is about 28 km from Grosseto and 18 km from Castiglione della Pescaia, and it is situated on a hill next to the top of Poggio Ballone.

The village dates back to the Early Middle Ages, as it was mentioned in a document of 814.

Destroyed by the Turks in the 16th century, it was then part of the Principality of Piombino.
